Supported file formats

Recorded Media products accept nearly all popular source media formats. The lists below are formats that have been used in completed production orders.

Video: MP4, MOV, MPG, MPEG, MXF, TS, MTS, WMV, MKV, M4V, WebM, AVI, OGV, FLV, VOB, and 3GP
Audio: WAV, MP3, M4A, OGG, WMA, AAC, AIF, AIFF, MP2, and FLAC

MXF files take materially longer to process than other formats. Where possible, choose another format for faster turnaround.

Which product accepts which files

LEXI Recorded only uses the audio part of the source media file.
Captionists working on Recorded Premium orders can use the video, when available, in addition to the audio.
LEXI AD requires a video file. Descriptions are generated from the picture as well as the soundtrack.

For LEXI Recorded and Recorded Premium, input media for the following language combinations can be up to 4 hours long.
